Jeff Lotspiech
Jeff Lotspiech is the owner of an old school, trusted video poker website that video poker amateurs and pros alike have relied upon for years. His name appears on quite a few video poker websites but he has never published a single book.
In fact, Jeff's biggest accomplishments to date have probably been in the business world. As an accomplished copy protection engineer, Jeff Lotspiech has over 50 patents in the content protection and computer industries. One of his content protection patents has already been used in over 400 million devices.
Jeff's Video Poker Background
According to an interview with Jeff at VideoPoker365.com, Jeff got his start with video poker back in the late 1980s. He knew it was a beatable game but noticed that there weren't any decent video poker books out there. Solid video poker information was hard to get at the time and people didn't have the internet to fall back on.
Originally, he planned on writing a book but before he could anywhere, some of Lenny Frome's most notable works appeared on bookshelves. Jeff saw how strong these books were and realized that he'd lost his chance. By this time it was already 1995 and a new technology was making big waves: the internet.

He took his strategy knowledge to the internet and created one of the first websites ever dedicated solely to video poker. This was a big deal at the time and his webpage soon became one of the few authoritative online video poker resources. His website might look outdated by today's standards but it still contains a ton of useful information. Check his site out here: Lotspiech Video Poker.
Jeff's website contains strategy articles covering Jacks or Better, Deuces Wild, Double Deuces Wild, Joker Wild, Tens or Better, Five Wilds and Double Bonus. The website also has strategy cards you can download and print.
He keeps a list of the best live video poker machines on the website as well but it hasn't been updated since the year 2000, so don't arrange any travel plans around the information found on that particular page.
Other than that, the rest of Jeff Lotspiech's website is still applicable to video poker. He also has a handy video poker simulator that you can use to train yourself in using proper video poker strategy. It plays just like a regular video poker machine except it reveals what the best discard/keep decisions would have been at the end of each hand.
Although Lotspiech admits he only plays a few hours of video poker a week, his work is still highly respected by the video poker community. His mathematically inclined mind is as sharp as ever and he claims to be interested in the math more than the actual play. Whatever his motivations are, Jeff Lotspiech knows how to write some awesome video poker content.
