The one downside to Looses Deuces isn't really a downside but it is worth noting: the game only pays for Three of a Kind or better. In most video poker machines you only have to make a pair of Jacks or better but in Looses Deuces, the lowest paying hand is Three of a Kind. On a positive note, the wild cards make it very easy to get Three of a Kind.
Looses Deuces Rules
Looses Deuces follows the basic rules of Jacks or Better video poker with the exception of the wild cards and a slightly altered pay table. To get started at a Looses Deuces game, the first thing you need to do is pick what coin denomination you wish to bet and how many coins you wish to bet per hand.
The pay table at the top of the machine will show you how the payouts differ based on how many coins you bet per hand. If you want to win the most money and take advantage of the Natural Royal Flush bonus you'll have to wager five coins at a time. The best way to take advantage of the increased payouts for max bets is to decrease the coin size until a five coin bet feels comfortable to you.
After you decide on the coin sizes and number of coins per hand, you can click the "Deal" button to get your first five cards. You get one chance to replace any number of these cards with new ones by clicking on the cards you want to keep and then pressing the "Draw" button. The cards that are marked "Hold" will remain in your hand and the other cards will be discarded. The computer will then deal new random cards in place of the ones you discarded.
You final hand is then automatically compared to the pay table to determine your winnings. The minimum hand for a payout in Looses Deuces is Three of a Kind and anything stronger than that will receive even better payouts.
Looses Deuces Pay Table
If your final five card poker hand is Three of a Kind or better, you'll qualify for one of the payouts on this table. Twos are wild cards and you get special payouts depending on how those twos are used. But don't worry; the computer automatically uses your wild cards to make the highest paying hand.

Looses Deuces Strategy
First of all, you should always bet the maximum number of coins when playing Looses Deuces. The extra high payout for Natural Royal Flushes with five coins does not come into play very often but it does make it worth betting five coins per hand over the long run.
After that, there are several other tips that should help you play more profitably at Looses Deuces. Some of these tips are difficult to implement because it feels like you're throwing away good cards but don't let that stop you. The mathematically correct Loose Deuces strategy presented here will yield you the best results.
- Don't hold high cards, even if you have three of them. Discard your entire hand.
- If you are dealt four cards to a straight flush using two deuces, discard everything except the deuces.
- Don't keep three to a straight in your hand. Just discard those cards for new ones.
- If you don't have any deuces, hold a pair over four to a straight or flush.
- Here's an extremely difficult one but it is mathematically correct: if you are dealt a wild Royal Flush, Five of a Kind, or a Straight Flush using three deuces, discard everything except the deuces. It's tough to do but the payout for four deuces is 2,500 coins and that is more than enough to cover the odds and make this the correct play.
- If you are dealt a flush with two deuces, discard everything except the deuces.
- If you get a straight or a flush with 0-2 deuces, you can keep all your cards.
- If you are dealt two pair, keep just one of the pairs.
